Remedial Measures of Drug Addiction
One of the greatest evils of our time is drug abuse and addiction. This has to be eradicated from our society. If we want a better future, we must eliminate drugs today. The following are some anti-drug measures we can take.
Education and Public Awareness: One of the most essential tools in the fight against drug abuse is drug education. Proper education aids in raising awareness of the dangers associated with drug abuse. Drug education must be incorporated into college and high school curricula.
Centers for Young People: Loneliness, anxiety, and isolation can all contribute to drug addiction. As a result, NGOs and social care organizations must establish youth centers to combat this feeling.
Counselling facilities: NGOs, educational institutions, and community centers should establish counselling centers where addicts can be motivated to overcome their addiction.
Strict rules: – For drug abusers and traffickers, strict laws and harsh punishments are required.
Parental Support: – Parents must create a warm and inviting environment at home so that abusers feel comfortable communicating with them.
Aside from these corrective procedures, we can also have different types of treatment for drug usage.
Admission to a hospital: The addict must be admitted to a hospital. A bio-chemical test can identify the substance that the addict has been using, and treatment can be adapted accordingly.
Occupational therapy: The addict is assigned a construction work while receiving counselling during this therapy.
Behavioral therapy: Addicts require a social environment that offers tranquilly, security, and some meditation practice.
However, it is considerably preferable to avoid drugs entirely rather than seek treatment afterwards because “prevention is better than cure.”
Conclusion: – Treatment and rehabilitative efforts alone will not put an end to this heinous behavior. It is only by our determination, self-awareness, and togetherness that we will be able to rid the world of drugs once and for all. People must recognize that narcotics are lethal, severing health, education, society, and wreaking devastation on the human community. People must learn to say “No to drugs” in order to preserve their families from disaster.
